About the Guitar Teacher

I am a self-taught guitarist, performer, singer songwriter, music producer, percussionist and a dedicated, enthusiastic teacher of all these skills. I have two music teaching diplomas through the London College of Music, a distinction at grade 8 on guitar and over 12 years of experience teaching guitar to all ages and levels - including 18 months at St. Luke’s Junior School in Brighton, England; 2 years at Raphael House, Rudolf Steiner School in Wellington, New Zealand; and 5 months teaching music at the Australian Intearnational School (AIS) in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. I’m also an accomplished music workshop leader and co-founded a ‘music and performance’ workshop company called TopHat Workshops est. 2002.

I have been playing guitar for 15 years as a professional guitarist. I have recorded and produced four albums, have appeared on another five, and as a guitarist I have played live with a variety of bands (see lists below). I have a lot of experience as a singer, as a front man of Vogue Gyratory and the occasional backing vocals for other performers; plus as a singing workshop leader and choir director. I also play bass, a variety of percussion especially djembe (in which I run workshops) and can play a little piano, clarinet and drum kit.
